CBO introduces hot-pluggable QSFP-100G-ER4 transceivers

CBO a leading provider of state-of-the-art optical solutions has announced today that it is launching QSFP-100G-ER4 transceivers.

Cloud-based services are pushing networks for sustainable capacity upgrades. 100G is becoming the ultimate solution in a broad range of applications and QSFP28 is leading in 100G optical modules. The BlueOptics QSFP-100G-ER4 transceiver is designed for mid-reach MSA and 100G Ethernet applications and is compatible with most of the 100G optical switches being used in the industry. With FEC this model offers guaranteed 40 kilometers reach. Whereas, the reach is 30 kilometers without FEC.

The BlueOptics QSFP-100G-ER4 is a internal CWDM transceiver; it comes with 4x EML type transmitter, LC Duplex connector and offers 103.1Gbps maximum data rate. This model is entirely hot-pluggable and supports DDM/DOM for real-time monitoring of critical parameters.

“- the biggest challenge was to design an energy efficient transceiver. The one we have introduced today operates on a 3.3 V single power supply and consumes 4.5 watts of maximum power to operate”; Said CBO engineer.

CBO has a history of designing environment-friendly networking components. The BlueOptics QSFP-100G-ER4 is a RoHS-6 compliant product and contains no lead (Pb).
