BlueOptics© Tunable 10G SFP+ Transceiver for 50GHz DWDM Applications

CBO is a manufacturer of networking products and offers a wide range of transceiver modules in the BlueOptics product range for 100 Mbit to 100 Gigabit Bandwidths. The BlueOptics line is now complemented by a new module: A hot-pluggable DWDM transceiver with tunable function (by SFF-8690) in metal housing (for low EMI) in accordance to SFP+ specifications (SFF-8431, SFF-8432) for 10 Gigabit 9/125µm single-mode (SMF) transfers without dispersion compensation.

The BlueOptics 10G Tunable SFP+ DWDM transceiver is designed for data rates of 9.95Gb/s to 11.3Gb/s, distances of up to 80 kilometers and has a built-in conformist full C-band Tunable Class 1 Mach-Zehnder (MZ) laser transmitter and an APD receiver to enable data transfers with 50 GHz ITU channel spacing (according to ITU-T G.698.1 standard). The channel or the desired wavelength can be set from the command line and is freely selectable. 99 different DWDM wavelengths are available.

The BlueOptics 10G Tunable SFP+ DWDM transceiver is designed for temperature ranges from -5°C to 70°C, has a power consumption of less than 1.65 watts, is RoHS compliant and features a 2-wire interface for Digital Diagnostics Monitoring functions (according to SFF 8472). The module has a LC Duplex connector and enables 10GBASE-ZR/ZW 10G Ethernet, 10G Fibre Channel 80KM and SONET OC-192 & SDH STM-64 DWDM applications. The module is designed for the use in Wide Area Networks (WAN), Local Area Networks (LAN), Storage Area Networks (SAN), Ethernet and Fibre Channel switches, routers, servers, firewalls, and similar hardware. It provides a new option for data center and other network operators to quickly and easily realize DWDM connections at the desired ITU channel.
