CBO expands its portfolio - with highly efficient 50G SFP56 transceivers!

CBO, a leading supplier of best-in-class optical transmission solutions, today announced the launch of its PAM4-based 50G optical transceiver series in hot-pluggable SFP56 design. Initially, two models will be offered (Short and Long Range). Both models meet the requirements of the 50GBASE-R specifications as stated in the related IEEE standards.

1. 50GBASE-SFP56 SR Transceiver BO06Y856S1D

The BlueOptics 50GBASE-SFP56 transceiver is the optimal short-range solution for single-channel 50GB/s Ethernet applications, providing speeds up to 53 GB/s. This design is SFP MSA compliant and has duplex LC connectors. The BlueOptics 50GBASE-SFP56 transceiver transmits and receives at a wavelength of 850nm. With this transceiver, ranges of up to 70 meters can be bridged via OM3 multimode fiber. Using the OM4 protocol, the range can be increased to 100 meters.

2. 50GBASE-SFP56 LR Transceiver BO06Y13610D

The BlueOptics 50GBASE-SFP56 LR transceiver revolutionizes single-channel 50GB/s connectivity for long-haul applications. It transmits and receives on 1310nm and bridges distances of up to 10km via singlemode. This transceiver uses a highly reliable modulated laser, which is excellently protected against electromagnetic interference. The 50GBASE-SFP56 LR requires only a single 3.3V supply. The optical inputs and outputs of this module are accessible via dual LC receivers.
