FAQ Page - Networking Adapters

In some cases, it is necessary to configure the hardware for the respective product. Please make sure that the used transceivers and cables work with other devices to see if the problem only occurs with the CNA or also with a switch. If you are sure that the devices are working, please check your hardware is 10G capable on both sides and set them to 10G full duplex mode.

Please also check if you have ordered the BlueOptics transceiver matching the CNA. If you are using transceivers from another supplier and they do not work, we cannot process your case. CBO recommends to use only the BlueOptics transceivers adapted by CBO as described in the respective BlueLAN CNA data sheet to ensure 100% functionality.

As with all computer devices, sometimes even a reboot of the system or a short disconnection and reconnection of the power plug can lead to a function that was not available before.

Have you installed the latest CNA drivers?

Please note that an outdated driver can cause problems or even a non-functioning of the product. Please make sure you use the latest driver for the card you are using. Please make sure to use the appropriate drivers for your processor product line.

Does your operating system support the CNA from CBO?

Please check the data sheet of your network card or the manual of your system to see if the operating system and/or the CNA product you are using is supported by the operating system and/or the hardware you are using.

The optical transceiver and a fiber optic cable are connected, but there is no link?

Often, even in the cleanest of environments, even the smallest particles of dirt in the air can get onto lasers of optical transceivers or connector contacts of fiber optic patch cables and limit or even completely block the penetration of the light signal. Therefore, clean the socket of the module and the fiber optic plug you want to insert and try again if the connection is now established. Before each use and with each plugging process, plugs and sockets or fiber optic transceiver ports should be cleaned with an appropriate cleaning tool. CBO offers different types of One-Click cleaners, you can find them here.

Are cables with the correct polarity connected to the product?

If a cable with the wrong polarity is connected to the transceiver/RJ45 port plugged into the CNA, no link will be established. When connecting transceivers to each other or to patch panels, make sure that you always use a fiber optic cable to get from the transmitting to the receiving side of the modules or use crossover patch cables for RJ45 ports.

Is this article a CBO product?

Network cards/CNAs often look identical in appearance, so that the respective manufacturer is difficult or impossible for laypersons to identify directly. Before making a complaint, please check carefully whether you have actually purchased the product from CBO or a CBO Reseller by consulting the delivery bill, the order confirmation or the invoice.

Can a defect in other components of the network be excluded?

In some cases, a defective hardware port or a defective cable is the reason for a CNA not functioning. Please check if the error occurs on all ports.

If you have purchased several products, do all products have the same error?

In order to exclude the possibility that an error only occurs with one product and all other products are functional, please check all products carefully for their function.

Did you purchase the product directly from CBO?

If you have not purchased the product from CBO, please contact your BlueOptics reseller or distributor directly. CBO will not be able to process your RMA request in this case.

I have checked all points of the guide, but the problem still exists.
