RMA Procedure

BlueOptics and BlueLAN products are exclusively manufactured using high-quality brand components from traditional companies for the production of components for optical and copper-based data transmission. For this reason and through a special design, BlueOptics and BlueLAN products achieve an above-average lifetime. As with all electronic products, a failure or defect can occur in rare cases. In the event of an unexpected circumstance, you may submit a RMA (Return Material Authorization) case for your product at CBO for the return and exchange of the ordered item. A RMA number denotes a unique identification number for your return, which you must attach on your return. This is used to speed up the RMA processing.

RMA Request

1. In the case of problems that are clearly attributable to a product, you can announce a RMA return delivery or a RMA exchange request at CBO and request a RMA number. Please contact your customer adviser by telephone, e-mail or via the CBO RMA form (The online RMA request page will inquire all the information necessary to assign the RMA number in a few steps). Important: Please enter the serial number when registering the RMA case. By communicating the product serial number, you specify the item and allow an accurate product allocation before the return.



Describe the Error

2. Describe the damage or malfunction of the hardware. The more information you submit to the RMA notification, the more possibilities arise to correct your problem (for example, all information on the behavior of the product, a log file of the error message, etc.). In some cases, CBO can also solve the problem without RMA return.

3. CBO will process your RMA request and will then send you an unique RMA number for your return, as well as a RMA delivery note. This is a clear assignment for the return to CBO and thus accelerates the processing. You will receive further information on the RMA shipping of a defective product as well as a RMA number for your service case by e-mail after successful RMA.

4. For the RMA shipment, please note the following points, as a non-compliance may result in reductions of the possible credit or a non-acknowledgment of the RMA consignment: Pack the products transport-safe and individually packed (ideally in original packaging), place all accessories and parts into the return package. Please send us the complained products within 10 working days for error analysis. Otherwise, the RMA case will be closed.

5. As soon as the goods have been received by CBO, they will be subjected to a check. If the problem can be solved by adapting the product, you will get your item back on the same working day, otherwise you will receive a replacement product as soon as possible.


Note on BlueOptics or BlueLAN Exchange Products in Advance

In the case of an urgent RMA replacement requirement, there is the possibility of a pre-exchange before sending back the criticized products. The following things should be taken into account:

  • If it is a pre-exchange, your original product will NOT be returned to you.
  • All BlueOptics and BlueLAN pre-exchange products are brand new products ex-factory.
  • The remaining time of the respective product guarantee applies to replacement products, unless otherwise agreed.
  • The dispatch of the RMA delivery takes place during the normal business hours to the address specified by you.

Please note that RMA exchanges will be billed to you first. As soon as we receive the RMA return of the previously delivered products, we will send you a corresponding credit note. For more information on the CBO RMA procedure, please contact your account manager or contact CBO directly by phone or mail.

Provisions for the Return of Products to CBO

The CBO RMA return terms apply to all BlueOptics and BlueLAN products. Unless specified in any other contract agreement, the following applies to all RMA returns by customers:

  • Return your product to CBO by a carrier of your choice. Please use a method whereby the RMA shipment can be tracked. CBO is not responsible for RMA shipments for which the carrier has no delivery confirmation.
  • CBO assumes no responsibility for loss or damage during the RMA transportation. We recommend you to add freight insurance for your RMA shipments.
  • Without CBO's prior authorization, RMA's returns can be rejected by CBO. In this case, the RMA returns delivery to the consignor.

We would like to draw your attention to the fact that we cannot assume liability for products which have not been granted authorization as well as for products that are not purchased from CBO. Furthermore, all products, whether or not they are defective, must be properly and securely packaged before sending the RMA consignment.
