CBO Expands Portfolio with Next Generation, Highly Efficient 50G SFP56 Transceivers

CBO a leading provider of state-of-the-art optical solutions has announced today that it is launching PAM4-based 50G SFP56 Optical Transceiver Series in hot-pluggable SFP56 form factor. Initially, two models are offered (Short Range and Long Range). Both modules are designed to meet with the corresponding 50GBASE-R specifications and requirements as stated in the relevant IEEE standards.

1. 50GBASE-SFP56 SR Transceiver BO06Y856S1D

The BlueOptics 50GBASE-SFP56 optical transceiver is designed for short-range, single-lane 50Gigabit Ethernet applications of up to 53 gigabits per second. This model is fully compliant with SFP MSA standards and has Duplex LC receptacles. The BlueOptics 50GBASE-SFP56 transmits and receives using 850nm wavelength. With this transceiver transmission distance of up to 70m is achievable over OM3 multimode fiber. Whereas, 100m reach is possible over OM4 multimode fiber.

2. 50GBASE-SFP56 LR Transceiver BO06Y13610D

The BlueOptics 50GBASE-SFP56 LR optical transceiver is a revolutionary solution for long-range, single-lane 50Gigabit/s applications. It transmits and receives using 1310nm wavelength and offers up to 10 km reach over singlemode fiber. Extremely reliable Electro-absorption Modulated Laser is utilized in this transceiver for transmission. The 50GBASE-SFP56 LR requires a single, 3.3 V power supply only. The optical I/O of this module is accessible through Dual LC receptors.
