BlueOptics© CFP, CFP2 and CFP4 Transceivers for 100G Data Transmissions

The manufacturer of products for high-speed networks based on optical fiber and copper technology CBO extends the BlueOptics Transceiver range with 100G CFP, CFP2 and CFP4 transceivers for 100 Gigabit 9/125µm single-mode (SMF) connections on distances of up to 10 kilometers.

BlueOptics CFP,CFP2 and CFP4 modules (100 Gigabit Small Form Factor Pluggable) are hot-swappable I/O solutions with different sizes that can be operated in 100G CFP/CFP2/CFP4 ports of switches, routers and similar hardware in Local Area Networks and data centers. All generation of BlueOptics CFP transceiver modules are equipped with integrated WDM TOSA (Transmitter) / ROSA (Receiver) lasers and multiplexers as well as demultiplexers.

BlueOptics 100G CFP transceiver have an electrical CAUI interface, via cooled DFB laser WDM transmitter and high sensitivity PIN receiver with a total power consumption of less than 12 watts. The form factor bundles ten parallel electrical 10.3GB/s data streams to four optical WDM 25.78GB/s signals to an optical 4-lane interface and vise versa. The connection takes place via duplex LC connector on the optical interface and a 148-pin connector on the electrical interface. BlueOptics 100G CFP transceivers are mounted on the port by attached screws on the sides.

BlueOptics 100G CFP2 transceivers are only about half as large as the CFP variant and feature four EML (Electric-absorption Modulated Laser) laser and PIN photodetectors as well as the again about the half smaller CFP4 Transceiver. After receiving and optimizing four incoming serial data streams the CFP2 and the CFP4 module multiplexes and vise versa respectively demultiplexes four wavelengths (1296nm, 1300nm, 1305nm and 1309nm) by WDM (Wavelength Division Multiplexing) method on 25 Gbit/s. Both form factors also have a lower power consumption of less than 6 watts and are connected by a LC Duplex Connector.

All CFP solutions enable applications such as 100 Gigabit Ethernet (100GBASE-LR4), as well as 40-Gigabit Ethernet (40GBASE-LR4) and achieve a line rate of 103.125 Gb/s to 111.81 Gb/s. In addition, the transceivers allow Digital Diagnostics Monitoring functions via a MDIO interface. All BlueOptics CFP transceiver generations are designed for temperature ranges from 0°C to 70°C, are RoHS compliant and are manufactured to meet the CFP MSA standards and hardware management interface specifications, as well as the IEEE 802.3ba standard.

The new 100G solutions CBO are now available under the brand name BlueOptics and can be obtained from your CBO partners.
